It is commendable that Meinl offers cymbals for virtually any drumming setup. The professional Byzance series consists of tasteful, carefully designed cymbals that are based on the traditional European cymbal sound. The B16MC is an enormously versatile crash that is 16 inches in diameter, making it the smallest of the Byzance Medium Crashes. It was hand-hammered in Turkey, giving each individual crash its own signature sound.
Meinl Byzance B16MC
It has a very pleasing quality to it, as its tone does not dominate the entire mix and is not too low in pitch. Instead, it's beautifully warm and encompasses a broad dynamic range. It has an energetic attack, after which the sound continues to expand, allowing the 16-inch Medium Crash to cut through the mix, even in a loud band environment. While its sound is not aggressive, it is very rich and carries nicely. This high-quality crash is a valuable and durable addition to your drum kit, and it's ready for stage and studio alike.
